NVL Humblebee goes grunge!

I'm back! To kick off the next couple of posts showcasing my UK polish haul, I have Barry M Grey to share! In case the name of this polish left you with any doubt, this polish is grey. SUPER grey. I think it has a teeny bit of teal in it too though, to give it that ever-so-slightly-murky look. The teal roughs it up a bit! I can see myself wearing it a TON this fall. The formula is awesome too. This is 2 coats.

I spiced it up with a topper of NVL Humblebee, which I have been lemming super hard. OMG love. I seriously want to try it over everything! I think the combination of grey and yellow is pretty cool, but i want to try it over pink and blue too! What color combos do you think I should try?

Opalescent Fish Egg Friday!

Hello there! I've seen tons of beautiful iterations of the caviar mani in the past couple of weeks, so i decided to do an opalescent version yesterday with just one accent nail covered in the microbeads that look like teensy-weensy fish eggs :) Little did I know that today has become Fish Egg Friday for many bloggers in protest of Ciaté, because the brand has been threatening legal action against bloggers that call their work a 'Caviar mani' because Ciaté is in the process of trademarking it. So hence the Fish Egg Friday! Fight the power,  y'all!

This is 2 coats of Essie Shine of the Times on top of 3 coats of Essie Marshmallow. To apply the 'fish eggs' *cough....caviar beads*, I dipped my nail into the container of microbeads just after applying the last coat of polish so that the beads would stick. It was super easy and I think the beads look like tiny soap bubbles when they reflect all those pretty pastel colors :)

Happy Friday and thanks for reading! -

Subtle Ocean-y Gradient

Hey guys! Long time no see! It's been nothing but cloudy here for the past week so I couldn't take any photos :( I freaked out when I saw it was sunny today and was able to do this mani really fast before the clouds came back! I was inspired by all the gradient manis I've seen in the past few days, including Allie's awesome coral to peach one (see it HERE!) so I decided to do one of my own using some of my fave colors - it goes from a minty medium green to blue!

I chose the colors based on a pretty magazine cover... see how the
color of the water starts to change at the top?

... and i used SH Insta-dry in Mint Sprint, a no-name Delia's polish, and
SH Xtreme Wear in Blue Me Away!

The color change isn't as noticeable as some of the other gradients I've seen, but I like it that way! I think looks like the tropical water on the magazine cover :) Thanks for reading and have a great afternoon!

A Brave New World of Water Marbling!

Hello babes! Today I had a little free time when I got home this afternoon (finally), so I decided to take on a new to me and slightly time consuming technique - water marbling! I vaguely recall trying out water marbling maybe 6 months ago and failing miserably so I didn't post it... today's experiment went notably better! I picked three springy cremes to use in the marble, Essie Tart Deco, Essie Mint Candy Apple, and Essie Fiesta. Those babies are relics from the time when I was all "I'll only buy creme Essies FOREVUR." Why, me? Why so many Essies? At least they served me well today!

So yeah! This is my rainbow sherbet first attempt at marbling! I think my swirling technique could use some work, but I really liked the color combo. I just wish these pics didn't wash out the minty blue so much, it was really nice and vibrant in real life. Thanks for reading and don't forget to enter our Sparklicious Giveaway! Have a safe and fun Friday night <3 - Grace
